Genesis have an excellent track record with helping firms secure grants towards the costs of capital investment. The Grant for Business Investment ("GBI") is designed for businesses that are looking at investing in capital assets which will assist the business to grow and also secure existing employment and create new jobs. The GBI grant is available nationally with varying levels of support - generally ranging from 10% upto 33% of the total project costs. The higher rate of support is available in government defined "Assisted Areas" which includes most of the West Midlands, Merseyside and South Yorkshire in England and most of Wales) where the company needs the extra financial support to make the full investment.
Most manufacturing businesses are eligible to apply, as are businesses in service industries that supply a national rather than local market. Applicants can be companies, partnerships or sole traders. Assistance can be provided to:
- Set-up a new business;
- Expand/modernise/ rationalise an existing business;
- Set-up research and development facilities;
- Or enable businesses to take the next step from development to production.
